(1) Estimates of U.S. Outbound for 2005-2006 are provided only for world regions or countries having a sample size of 400 or more. The past year estimates based upon at least 100 respondents are still reported for 1996-2004. For more information please contact the Office of Travel and Tourism Industries.

(2) Total outbound is the sum of Canada, Mexico and Overseas.

(3) Overseas includes all countries except Canada and Mexico

** Estimate not shown due to sample size fewer than 400, a new OTTI statistical policy for the 2005 and 2006 data release

n.a. - estimates are not available because fewer than 100 travelers were surveyed in 1996-2004.

Note: Overseas excludes Canada and Mexico (For those two countries visitation estimates include all modes, for all other countries estimates are available only for air travel to that country). The Canadian and Mexican travel estimates were obtained from their respective governments
The Visitation estimates are made based upon the airlines who voluntarily participate in this program. If a major carrier does not participate and we do not have access to other carriers who generate passenger travel to that destination, our estimates will be affected.

Note: This table shows only one of the 32 travel characteristics data reported on U.S. resident outbound travelers. Additional information may be obtained for a fee. To learn more, please visit our website: http://tinet.ita.doc.gov/research/programs/ifs/index.html
